For over 15 years GF has designed and built machinery for wire and cable production in Ravenna, Italy: SZ stranding machines, industrial reelers, pay-offs, take-ups and custom line equipment.
GF engineers equipment for every position of the cable line, from the pay-off that feeds the conductors to the take-up that winds the finished product. Each machine is designed to integrate with the equipment around it, whether the line is new or already in service.
Behind every machine there are more than fifteen years of custom machinery engineering. Design, fabrication, assembly and testing are carried out under one roof in Ravenna, Italy. Over the years GF has designed dozens of machines for cable makers and other manufacturers: stranders, winders, pay-offs, handling and process equipment, each one built around the customer's product.
Every machine leaves the workshop CE certified in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with motorization and controls configured for the customer's line architecture.
High-speed SZ strander for power cables, building wires and flexible cords, with line speed up to 400 m/min.
The GF SZ strander twists insulated conductors with alternating S and Z lay. The pay-offs remain stationary and no reels rotate around the cable axis, so the machine runs in line with extrusion for continuous production, at speeds a conventional strander cannot reach.
Winder and pay-off for reels up to ø2000 mm and 6000 kg, for electric cables, wire ropes, hoses and belts.
At the start and at the end of the line, the product lives on a reel. The GF industrial reeler winds and unwinds reels in steel, wood or any other material, from building wire to heavy power cable, with motorization and shaft configured to the customer's reels and drives.
The two flagship machines are only part of the picture. Most of the machines GF has designed over the years were built for one customer, one product and one line.
Reel handling at both ends of the line: pay-offs, take-ups and rewinding stations, sized to the customer's reels and synchronized with line speed.
Feeding capstans, torsion locking units and taping heads: the equipment that keeps tension, twist and geometry under control between pay-off and take-up.
When no standard machine fits the product, GF designs from a blank sheet. More than 50 machines engineered and built in over 15 years of activity.
New machines designed to enter existing lines, and existing machines brought back to full performance. Motorization, drives and control panels are configured to the customer's architecture.
Every machine is delivered CE marked in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, complete with safety guarding, risk assessment and technical file.
GF was born in industrial maintenance. Installation, spare parts, preventive and predictive maintenance keep the machines running long after delivery.
Whether you need a single machine or the equipment for an entire section of the line, start from your product. Our engineers will design the machine around it.
